Old School Twin

Yesterday we met a friendly man in his sixties on the beach. V was lunging for him, he took him in his arms, making him the first and only italian man to have held a baby. It turns out this man is a twin and he told us how he was born at home, his mother unaware that she had two babies in her. He and his brother weighed under three pounds each, and the midwife made an incubator out of a bedwarmer and towels. Who knows how long they stayed in there, but it reminded me how powerful nature and humans were, long before Dr. C and all that jazz.
