M asked me to give her challenging words to spell and I could not stump her (they have to words she has heard of). Examples:
vehicle
vegetable
dumb
comb
laugh
daughter
spaghetti
any ideas on words I can stump her with?
Clearly V is related to M. He is a talking MACHINE. He looks at pictures and names people and animals (like Chloe? A dog he has not seen in months!) He names people who are not here and says "se fue." He can name all of his BT teachers (some have multisyllabic names!) and likes to tell me what belongs to whom (Bike. Papi Bike). He cracks me up!
february, entertain, rattle, process, exaggerate, numb, century, knew, succeed, width, dairy, jealous....
ReplyDeletemind you, these are all off a 5th grade spelling list
though, through, although, definitely, tough, beaver,
ReplyDeleteshe got all of carmen's except for exaggerate (no idea), spelled century with an "ie" instead of a "Y" and missed the "d" in width. she spelled all of rolando's except she said "e" where the second "i" goes in definitely. wtf? maybe i can train her like those crazy people in spellbound? just kidding. but she does already spell better than grandpa and some other adults i know (when i asked her to spell "a lot"- my pet peeve- she knew it was two words!)
