I thought it was my grandmother's birthday today and even wrote it in my planner. Then I realized it was my grandfather's. He has been dead for ten birthdays already but I still miss him. I look at my chubby short son with blond hair and cannot help but think it is some Julio shining through. Those peasant Russian genes, breaking through past the stronger darker ones.
